Properly this time, with names and descriptions and everything.
Only a few days to go now. The website may have been quiet but it's been a hive of activity here at Polyday central, and I've finally managed to update this website to include the workshop plan. We'll have a copy of the plan on in the programme booklets and on the walls, but we thought you might like this sneak preview.
Yes, we're doing it again. After the smashing success of the first London Polyday, we've booked the same venue for another get-together, this time on September 22. We're hoping for even more people, even more diversity, and an even better time.
We're only getting started in the organisational process at the moment - we still have to design flyers, publicise the event, sort out workshops and even finish updating these web pages. Watch for more news here and on the Polyday blog.
After it was already too late to change the date, we were reminded that this clashes with Yom Kippur. Apologies to anyone who can't attend as a result - we won't make the same mistake next time.
We look forward to seeing you there.
The first London Polyday has been a huge success. Nearly 200 people attended, pushing the limits of what we can fit into that venue, and it looks like they had a great time. My heartfelt thanks to the team, to the people who ran workshops, to the desk staff, to the DJs and to everyone who attended for helping us make something so fab. I've wanted to go to such an event for years - running it is definitely one way to do it.
Did you attend Polyday? Please post your thoughts, impressions and suggestions in the Polyday blog - or just ask the person whose email address you lost to get in touch :-)
You can call us during the day on 07910 227732. We look forward to seeing you there.
We've put a timetable online including a list of workshop titles. We'll add more details on the workshops when we can.
We've added a Help out section where you can volunteer to take a slot on the Polyday registration desk. Please pass the word to anyone you think might like to help.
We've given the web pages a face lift. Many thanks to Wechsler for design and implementation - it's a great improvement. Thanks also to the photographer for licensing this image under the cc-by-sa-2.0 license.
We need your help to spread the word about Polyday.
We think this Polyday will be a little different from anything that has gone before, and we want to reach lots of people who've never been to anything like this before. Of course we also want to reach the people who for example went to the previous Polyday, or who've been to a BiCon, but who might not know about our event. We're publicising it every way we can think of, but no publicity is as effective as the grapevine.
So if you've got a blog, or you know people who might be interested, or you know where our flyers and our press releases should be, learn more about how you can help us spread the word.
